Course Details & Aid Stations
The Barnstable Police Officer Michael Aselton 5Km begins at 7:30 am on May 28th, 2017, in front of the monument overlooking Hyannis Harbor, dedicated to Barnstable Police Officer Michael Aselton. For more information on bib pickup, race times, etc., please see the Event Schedule page.
The course is extremely picturesque and historical, passing the Officer Michael Aselton Memorial Park overlooking historic Hyannis Harbor, the Hy-Line Nantucket Ferry Boats docked at Hyannis Harbor, along Kalmus Beach, past the John F. Kennedy Memorial, and thru some old Cape Cod seaside neighborhoods.
Barnstable Police Officer Michael Aselton 5Km is a loop course that is paved and flat. The course is not closed to traffic; however, the traffic is very light on the course. The Course is well monitored by the Barnstable Police Department and seasoned road race volunteers.
Water Stops & Aid Stations
Aid stations will provide water, lemon-lime Gatorade, and toilets.
Courses staffed by emergency vehicles, and there are three (3) EMT's along the course and four (4) at the Finish Line, with Emergency Service provided by Hyannis Fire Department and Centerville Fire Department.
